Based in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece, the makers of these handcrafted mills are a family-run company who have produced a range of grinding mills since 1977. The robust design of the mills was originally based on a portable coffee mill created in the early 1900’s for Greek soldiers to use in the field. These mills are exclusively distributed in Australia by Mr Kitly.

Your mill will need some regular care and maintenance to keep it in good working order. It's important to clean the mill regularly, keep its contents fresh and avoid exposure to moisture. Never wash the mill in water or in the dishwasher!

  • Hand made to exacting standards in Greece.
  • Food safe plastic mechanism and stainless steel shaft.
  • Durable all metal body, flanged base for stability.

Please note: The salt mills require regular maintenance. We recommend regular removal of the lid to check for any salt contacting metal and for any corrosion occurring between lid and body. Also check the base where metal may be in contact with salt crystals when stored. Give the area under the lid and inside lid a quick clean with dry cloth and ideally an oil with camellia oil before replacing the lid. We recommend this be done weekly. Please see more important care information below.

Brass and copper will naturally change appearance and develop an attractive patina of use over time. This normal oxidising process will occur in unpredictable ways with touch and exposure to moisture and humidity. The mills require some regular care and cleaning and the contents should be kept fresh and dry. The manufacturer provides a limited warranty, however this does not cover changes in appearance or corrosion of the mills which can be managed with regular care. Please see our care and instructions page for more important information.
